In this video, we’re going to talk about blood sugar and what’s normal for a blood sugar level.

What is a normal blood sugar level?
• 80-100 mg/dL (could be less if you don’t consume sugar)

This is the ratio of how much sugar you have in your blood.

The average American consumes 31 teaspoons of sugar every day, which is 130-145 pounds of sugar per year. This is why most of the population is becoming prediabetic or diabetic.

Symptoms of prediabetes:

• You get tired after you eat
• You crave sweets
• You’re not satisfied after you eat
• You can’t go many hours without eating, and then when you eat you feel better

You don’t need a lot of glucose (sugar) in your diet to have normal blood sugars. I believe you shouldn’t be consuming any sugar at all. If you don’t consume sugar, you could clear up so many different health problems.

Watch a step by step guide on how to test your blood glucose levels. In order to perform a blood glucose test you will require your blood glucose meter, a test strip to hand, a lancing device and a monitoring diary to record the results of your blood glucose test.

Diabetes.co.uk’s Benedict Jephcote runs through how to test your blood sugar. In this video, Benedict is using a OneTouch meter and test strips.
