Food Portion Plate, A healthy diet plan for Diabetic patients
One strategy is to eat healthy portions.
This is your basic 9 inch dinner plate.
draw an imaginary line down the middle of the plate.
And then divide one side in half
Largest section is filled with non-starchy vegetables
Carrots, Salads, Broccoli, cabbage, green beans are a few examples.
Fill one quarter with whole grain or starchy foods like rice, corn, potatoes, bread, noodles
Fill the other quarter with lean proteins such fish, chicken, lean beef, tofu, or cooked dried beans.
Lean proteins mean meat with low fat content.
As the dessert you can eat a small amount of fresh fruit.
You can also have three portions of milk per day. But make sure to use skimmed milk or 1% milk.
The next strategy is to use the interactive web service American Diabetes Association provides. You can create your own plate with it. The link is mentioned in the description.
Working with your doctor or dietitian is also highly recommended to create individualized diet plans for you.
That’s it for today!
I’d really appreciate If you could provide me feedback in the comments section. Share this video If you know someone with diabetes. Thanks! I’ll see you soon with another animation soon! Take care. Video Rating: / 5

Losing weight and eating healthier can also have a profound effect on your mood, energy, and sense of wellbeing.
A lot of belly fat surrounds the abdominal organs and liver and is closely linked to insulin resistance. You are at an increased risk of developing diabetes if you have a large waistline. A slimmer waistline comes from cutting back on sugary foods.
Calories obtained from High fructose corn syrup are more likely to add weight around your abdomen.

Gestational Diabetes Diet and Weekly Meal Plan: www.fitaftergd.com/meal-plan
In this video, I discuss a lower carb option (190-130 g carb/day) to the traditional 175 g carb meal plan for gestational diabetes. If you are struggling with your blood sugars or 175 g carbs feels like too much food for you. Newer research shows that lower carb is a safe and effective option for moms with gestational diabetes.

How many carbs in a diabetic diet should a diabetic eat a day in their diabetic diet? Dr. Ahmet Ergin, will explain exactly how many carbohydrates should a diabetic eat per day in their diabetic diet Although the ideal amount of carbohydrate intake in a type 2 diabetic diet is uncertain, individualizing goals is the key. Dr. Ergin will give real-life examples to help understand how many carbs should you eat personally. As long as a patient with diabetes can maintain reasonable glucose control as well as a healthy weight, the amount of carbohydrates does not necessarily matter as much. Some people can do this with 30 g of carbs per meal, and some people can eat up to 75 g per meal depending on their activity level, age, gender, and duration of diabetes type 1 or type 2. For sedentary individuals, we do not recommend eating more than30-45 g of carbs per meal.
Please note: Dr. Ergin sees patients in FL and NY. NY is a virtual practice only. FL practice is in West Palm Beach( both in-person and virtual). We accept most insurance in FL. If you do not live in FL or NY you can still apply for the “coach plan”. Our coach plan is with “health coach only” and self-pay only. Any patient in any state in the USA can apply for this particular “coach plan”. For more info about self pay pricing please visit: https://sugarmds.com/membership-plans.

Exercise is an important part of every type 2 diabetes management plan, but it’s not always easy or convenient to get to the gym. Fortunately, there are ways to get fit without buying an expensive gym membership or spending hours on the treadmill. In fact, you can reap the benefits of diabetes exercises without leaving the comfort of your own home.
How important is exercise for diabetes?
The American Diabetes Association (ADA) recommends 30 minutes of moderate activity most days of the week. If you have trouble fitting in 30 minutes of exercise at a time, consider breaking it up into 10-minute segments. Its best to spread your activity out over at least 3 days during the week and try not to go more than 2 days in a row without exercising. Remember: moderate intensity means that you are working hard enough that you can talk, but not sing, during the activity. Vigorous intensity means you cannot say more than a few words without pausing for a breath during the activity.
If you haven’t been very active recently, start out with 5 or 10 minutes a day. Then, increase your activity sessions by a few minutes each week. Over time, you’ll see your fitness improve, and you’ll find that you’re able to do more.
Getting started with Diabetes exercises at home. If you are just starting out, this free diabetes exercises at home video routine is a great place to begin. You don’t even need to leave the comfort of your own home!
Make sure to get your doctor’s permission before starting with these diabetes exercises at home. Let them know that you want to do these diabetes exercises at home, they can make sure you’re ready for it.
If you’re new to working out, start slowly. Check your blood sugar before, during, and after exercise — especially if you’re trying something new — to determine how it impacts your blood sugar levels. And keep a snack nearby in case your blood sugar drops.
